Peace for human beings involves the development of three broad dimensions within human life on this planet: (1) the moral insights connected with human dignity, universal human rights and the universal principle that we should only do to others what we would want them to do to us, (2) the development of compassion (the karuna of Buddhism), love (the agape of Christianity), and sense of our universal shared human consciousness, and (3) a global peace science in which we use our knowledge of society, the environment, culture, and law to establish good universal laws and institutions for our planet that promote and embody (as far as possible) numbers (1) and (2).
