Jack L I was not hinting that anyone was thick. Having spent time in front of classes teaching new concepts to students, I know about this. It is often very difficult to get your student to make a 90 deg turn in his thinking so as to be able to see the object in question from an angle which permits seeing the new concept. I'm not sure that you do understand this ecliptic pole thing. Certainly Neville has denied it in concentrated debate on this point in the past in terms which indicated that he had not made that 90 deg turn. Perhaps you can convince me that I am wrong? Dear Paul, It really isn't necessary for you to go to all that trouble. What you are trying to explain has already been said by heliocentrists. We don't have a problem understanding that this is what they are saying, its just that we dispute it. You are unlikely to be able explain it any better than helio astronomers, so why don't you just leave it alone? With respect there are better people than us on this forum, on both sides of the camp, who can debate it much more succinctly than us. This will save you thinking that the rest of us are too thick to to grasp what you are trying to say. [The point I'm trying to prove is that there is rotational motion about the ecliptic pole due to circular motion from the Earth moving in its orbit and if it kills me I'll get the image across. I don't really care if you believe me, I just want you to understand my explanation. I may have to build a table top model and take photographs but one way or another I will succeed. It's really frustrating when you just can't seem to get a simple idea across to your audience.] Sick of deleting your inbox? Yahoo!7 Mail has free unlimited storage. Get it now.
