Dear Robert,
Have you any idea why the Dayton Miller Ether Drift experiment was left out
of the list on this website? http://www.mountainman.com.au/aeth_faq.htm
<http://www.mountainman.com.au/aeth_faq.htm>
No, I don?t, Jack. The list is qualified by saying : ?Some of the more
famous aether experiments??
Because of Shankland?s deceptions, Miller?s name is not that well known to
MS ?. But the internet (and GWW) are changing that ?.

Also why did this come up when I clicked on this link?

The following three diagrams illustrate gravity experiments that should
really be done in order. You can skip experiment No1 as that has been
verified and an excellent video and explanation can be seen at
www.fourmilab.ch/gravitation/foobar/
<javascript:openAnotherPopUp('http://www.fourmilab.ch/gravitation/foobar/')>
You need to read the Fourmilab webpage to get a feel for what is going on.
---------------------------

 Experiment No1

The diagram above shows the apparatus looking from above. Two ball shaped
weights at the end of a solid bar are suspended in the middle by fishing
twine. Two large lead weights are placed near to the balls and the
corresponding gravitational attraction between the masses can be witnessed
as the suspended balls start to rotate.
---------------------------

 Experiment No2

This experiment is used to determine that there are variations in the
strength of the gravity field around a solid bar. The gravity field is
stronger at the ends of the bar.
The earth exhibits gravitational anomalies near mountain ranges and deep
ocean trenches. For more information on this see
www.csr.utexas.edu/grace/publications/fact_sheet/3.html
<javascript:openAnotherPopUp('http://www.csr.utexas.edu/grace/publications/f
act_sheet/3.html')>
---------------------------

 Experiment No3

This experiment shown above demonstrates the possibility that the
gravitational anomalies in the system contribute, if given an effective
central pivot, to the suspended balls rotating (potentially) almost
ad-infinitum.
For an explanation of what is expected to happen you need to think of the
large static lead rods as behaving like vacuum cleaners. The only difference
to a vacuum cleaner is that they are sucking in 'aether' instead of air. It
is the movement of aether which imparts a force on the suspended weights.
Essentially a weak aether vortex is produced in the centre of the apparatus.
The effect is not too dissimilar to that predicted by Lense Thirring
<javascript:openAnotherPopUp('http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frame_dragging')>
.

If you are not sure and need and explanation of what I mean by 'aether' then
see
www.mountainman.com.au/aeth_faq.htm
<javascript:openAnotherPopUp('http://www.mountainman.com.au/aeth_faq.htm')>
but essentially it is another name for field.

I need to break here because you are going to ask why is this 'mythical'
aether field/massless fluid stuff flowing into matter. I would then need to
tell you how matter maybe created from field ('empty space').
In the meantime, a viewpoint worth considering is outlined at
www.glafreniere.com/matter.htm
<javascript:openAnotherPopUp('http://www.glafreniere.com/matter.htm')>
which proposes matter as a combination of high energy standing waves.
---------------------------

 Experiment No4

The last experiment, shown above, demonstrates how a fast spinning magnetic
field affects the surrounding aether field.

In the centre of the diagram there is a 'washer' magnet, a cross section of
which is shown in black. This is spinning at high speed. The magnetic field
spins round causing aether drag. With a powerful enough magnet and spinning
at high speed a partial aether vortex should occur as shown in green.
The variation in aether speed and density in this vortex region will alter
the local gravitational force.

This is obviously a very simplified version of the apparatus and is just to
show the principle. For more information on the Podkletnov Effect see
www.americanantigravity.com/podkletnov.html
<javascript:openAnotherPopUp('http://www.americanantigravity.com/podkletnov.
html')>

---------------------------

 Experiment No5

The proposed experiment, shown above, is an enhancement of the previous one.
It should demonstrate how subatomic spin can be polarised to produce density
variations in localised aether.

See the previous experiment for the details of the magentic flux generation
arrangement. The grey/green ring is soft iron or possibly copper. The
spinning discs, which are similar to those used in the Tampere university
experiment by Podletkov, should induce a subatomic spin configuration in the
ring which will in turn effect the aether.
Try a torsion balance in the gap (coloured green) to see if there are any
gravitational fluctuations. As with all these experiments you need to ensure
that other influences are not distorting the results.

By this time you have probably seen the similarity between electricity and
what causes gravity. The difference, as I see it, is that electricity is the
transfer of spin energy (induced by a varying field) from one 'particle' to
another whereas gravity is the actual flow of field from one place to
another.

See an article written in the New Scientist, 5 Jan 2006, where Heim,
Dröscher and Häuser
<http://www.newscientist.com/channel/fundamentals/mg18925331.200.html>
suggest that ...
"A spinning ring and a strong magnetic field could produce a repulsive
anti-gravity force?

Interesting that the home page for simplegravity has this code :
The 1962 clock tower experiment is mentioned in Stephen Hawking's book, A
Brief http://www.physics.metu.edu.tr/~fizikt/html/hawking/a.html History of
Time, and can be seen at Space and Time
<http://www.physics.metu.edu.tr/~fizikt/html/hawking/a.html> .
