Dear Neville,
Theological discussion is pointless because nobody is likely to change their position to someone els's; all believe they are privy to the truth. I have asked you many times privately and on the forum to elaborate on what made you dump the Bible but to no avail. The Roman Catholics, Protestants and the atheists, are all entrenched in their respective faiths. As I have said before this forum would make more sense if it stuck to purely scientific issues and exposing so-called scientific explanations and theories. Regner seems to have given up and those of us who were eagerly awaiting his challenges to his requested 5 points appear to be waiting in vain. The inevitable philosophical issues resulting from successfully challenging MS science should be dealt with elsewhere. This forum would have far more meaning if a more concerted and organized effort were made to bring in more people like Regner. There are also many creationists who would take Regner's side. Sadly many of these creationists belong to a creationist forum that refuse to allow geocentrism to be discussed. This is a forum where the converted preach to the converted; true lively discussion is stifled in these conditions. ICR and AiG are probably the largest creationist groups that will not consider geocentrism. I guess they think it will spoil their credibility in the eyes of scientists! They should have nothing to worry about since it is already a done deal! However these are the sort of people that would spark a lively debate. I do know of other creationist groups that may have members who would consider geocentric arguments. I may try and check them out if it is going to be worth it.

Regards

Jack

Dear All,

It seems to me that the forum is stagnating. We are making no progress on theological issues, nor any progress on scientific issues. In fact, we have not even reached consensus on what is going on in the world at present (and who, or what, is responsible for it). Also, many members have gone, or remain, completely silent.

I am therefore contemplating closing the forum, to concentrate on my own work.

Before doing so, what is YOUR opinion?
