 Alan said,

(except for the ludicrous theory which has no scientific backing that
the stars go round the sun every 24 hours, and that the sun goes round the
earth!)

And there in Alan is your delemma. Why is it ludicrous? Because it has no
scientific backing? Of what value is scientific backing when we are dealing
with mere theory? Most great discoveries of time had no scientific backing.
Science often takes the wrong turn, through insufficient data.

I say again, your (science) theories are a faith or belief system, with very
little lateral thought. You said as much yourself with,
"A scientist would say that
he would consider the evidence and decide whether it supported, or did not
support his beliefs. " His beliefs?

And now to the problem you posed: "If this is what you believe, then tell me
where the colossal
forces which hold the stars in orbit originate, and how the stars can
exceed the speed of light!"

And here is a lateral possibility.
It is not the stars and the Sun that are moving through space at the speed
of light orbiting the earth. It is the FABRIC of space containing these
bodies (which can individually move with some elasticity within this fabric)
that is moving around the central stationary earth. What is this fabric? Of
course it has been called the aether. Ludicrous? You think so? Or is it just
beyond your comprehension? Like heavier than air flying machines had very
little scientific support.

I doubt science has come very much further than the time of Galeleo,
compared to the length of the path it has yet to follow.

Philip Madsen.

## "moving with some elasticity within this fabric" of course could explain
your brothers figures.
