I was out eating lunch but I am not the only one here that moderates anything. If need be I can lock the list down and only let selected messages thru but no one likes when I do that. Let me whip out one of my spare lists..... bugger. I forgot the passwords. Let me work on this a few minutes.....

for what it's worth; i agree strongly. this list is seldom geocaching related.
very few follow the netiqutte guidelines that we all read when we subscribed.
if i weren't already accustomed to an enormous amount of spam (over 500
messages daily) i would have un sub scribed* long ago(*sorry but if i use that
word then the AI blocks the message). i bet that makes some wonder what's
keeping me.

Glenn,
From my perspective as an individual (not as SLAGA
President), I'd like to see another mailing list opened up
for these types of NGR discussions. While this Geocaching
mailing list isn't an "official" venue for SLAGA
communications, it is used by quite a few members for
communicating SLAGA events, etc. I can name some individuals
that have either unsubscribed to this list or are sending
the emails directly to their "Trash" folder because of the
volume of non-geocaching related discussions. After the
last day, I've thought of doing so myself. I admit I've
been guilty of such NGR topics in the past, but I can see
from another perspective how much "stuff" I have had to wade
through in the last 24 hours.
This mailing list is often the first sense of "Geocaching in
St. Louis" that many newbies get and this last 24 hours
would have scared off anyone not knowing the individuals
involved.

I, for one, would really like to see the discussions get
back to "geocaching" and "eating while discussing
geocaching" topics.

Yea, while very interesting, the original questions have
been answered and we have had a bit of discussion. I think
this one has had a good run and we should get back to
regular stuff.
I have another spare newsgroup or two laying around that we
could use for a "discuss anything any time" venue if
anyone were truly interested in such a thing. It only
takes a second to set up a google group. Anyone can do it.

I was wondering the same thing... This is out of
control... Food and caching are much better topics..

I am in the process of building my new cache. Hope to
have it out soon. Mike Griffin
