That's amazing they do that for "free". There could be a gazillion items with SLAGA on it and we'd still make money if we sold 1 or 100. Just think, pens and pencils, underwear, shoes, socks, SLAGA soft drinks and beer, maybe even our own car. ----- Original Message ----- From: Glenn To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, August 16, 2002 9:53 PM Subject: [GeoStL] Re: usergroup merchandise That would be correct. No money from me. They make money when they sell a shirt or hat. For example, On the vendor price list a cap might be $12.00, I can charge as much as I want and they send me what's over the $12.00. I am sure they don't put the artwork on the stuff till you order a hat. The computer would zip out a logo and send out the hat. They are selling tons of stuff as there are many "specialty" shops selling their stuff. Now, besides making whatever profit they do on their hats they are getting 6.50/mo from each storeowner. The products are very good quality stuff and many of the motorcycle rallies use cafepress for their rally shirts but you hat costs $8.00 in town and I think their hat would be 15 or so bucks. It is a little pricey but they take care of running the store. I need to look and see what the Chicago group is charging for stuff. I am sure our prices would be about the same. Just enough to keep the lights on. And then they keep all the money from the product? That doesn't seem very profitable for them unless you have to guarantee a min. quantity on each item. ----- Original Message ----- From: Glenn To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, August 16, 2002 9:21 PM Subject: [GeoStL] Re: usergroup merchandise If there is really an interest in the stuff I could set one up for a while. All I need to do is send them whatever artwork we wanted on the items. I am guessing the logo with the green state and the arch. They have changed the rules a bit. They used to be all-free with an upgraded store as an option. Now I think we get the free basic store for a month then we are automatically upgraded to the deluxe store, for $6.50 a month. The merchandise looks good. Of course it will look better with SLAGA on it. We can all look official beating around the bushes for small film canisters.
