I use MapSource Topo on my 76S. It is OK if you load the maps for the area you will be visiting. Depending on the Garmin you have, there is a restriction on how many Topos you can load. My 76S holds about 23 meg of maps.. I also use road and recreation maps from Garmin. So the topos are close to home and the roads and rec maps are installed for my trip. If you are doing a lot of drive up caches, roads helps a lot. Topo maps sometimes gets confusing because of the contour lines. IE: Not sure if that is the creek or a contour line.

I use GSAK and MapPoint. However, Streets and Trips is probably more user friendly and certainly costs a lot less..

My Toolbox:
Garmin GPSMap 76S
GSAK
ExpertGPS
MapPoint
Mapsource TOPO
Mapsource Roads and Recreation

Well, this is the other mapping question--I have a garmin--I am going to Memphis in June
Does Mapsource Topo help?
And what other software beside GSAK do people have?
What would help and what would not?
thanks
