- Here is my 2 cents: This is only a "game", maybe a sport, if so I have much to practice yet. And as such different people play by different rules. Some don't do group caching, I do, and I love it !!!!. Some don't do virtual, I do, and I love it !!!!. Like poker, they might play "Texas" style or whatever( I am not much of a poker player), but whoever is the house tell us the rule. Is "conundrum" here: Should we log or not log as a find, events ?. I think if the organizer that post the "event" allows it, GREAT !. And if those feel kind awkward "logging" an event....let me help you out ! http://www.xitaqua.com/geocaching/ By the way, I attended the Tiger Day event and found a real cool cache: knowledge. For the life of me I didn't know what was a "Tiger Day". geocaching is a journey. The journey is the reward. Cheers ! For that I apologize to Mark. However, I still don't see what difference it makes if we make this an event, which, it is already. To think that we would not be discussing Geocaching at the breakfast is crazy. I read it as saying that we were just gonna meet and socialize. I think the purpose of the meeting was to discuss bug swapping and then act upon it. I know that there are several people who have had bugs for quite a while and maybe we can get them moving. The last breakfast we had was an instructional breakfast and I feel that this would be the same. Events should be posted without regard to cache clicks. If I posted an event for everytime we have a gathering, so be it. How else do you think we will get people there. Half the people out there actively caching don't even belong to SLAGA. They don't belong to the newsgroup either. How do you let them know about events. Case in point, Marcos, Xitaqua, saw Tiger Day posted as an event and got involved right away. Without the event page, which was a gathering of cachers, he would have not met us nor been involved at the level he is now. He makes all the events. So my opinion, and it is only my opinion, is that when people start saying we don't need an event for a gathering, they are thinking of the "Find" and not the outcome. RGS has posted and advertised the idea of having workshops many times over. Yet, no one has stepped to the plate and said they would help out. At the last meeting we had, Lunch I believe, we didn't post an event and I went and picked Mark up and brought him to the lunch / breakfast. Don't misunderstand that this was a slam to Mark. It was a slam to everyone who spoke without thinking of all the cachers who ONLY read the events. Nuff said!
