I suspected as much about slowing down over time and all that. I did see that the new Mac was hacked in a jiffy and the guy got the 10K prize. Still, that 8 core Mac Pro running 2 3.2Ghz Intel Quad-Core Xeon processors IS interesting and FAST. I just dont think I do do all the stuff I do on the Mac software. I may go to the apple store today just to look anyway. I think I can afford the fancy case if they take all the guts out. It is easily more than twice, nearly 3 times what I want to spend on an unnecessary toy. I could by a lot of GPS's for that.

With regard to Macs and hacking.... they just got done running a hack contest. The Mac bit the dust first. So if folks get serious about attacking it, it isn't going to fair any better than anything else.

Macs are subject to slowing down like any other computer. But Macs don't get the viruses and spyware that are usually the cause of slowdown on Windows computers (mostly because nobody cares to try and write any). As for geocaching on a mac, there's MacCaching. But since you'll have windows on there too it doesn't really matter.
