I use GSAK. It's free if you don't mind a nag screen, and $20 to purchase.

Is anyone familiar with both GSAK and Geobuddy that can explain the
advantages and disadvantages of each?

To add a review of the product.

It does several things that make caching easier. I liked the way
Expert GPS would take a list of waypoints and instantly throw them onto
a map. Granted, the map is a copy of the USGS topo maps which are
sometimes a little hard to read by it is a pretty nice map and you can
easily see where all the caches are. I usually export my waypoints out
of gsak onto Streets and Trips to see where things are but this is
faster and a few clicks easier. With Geobuddy, the proper icon for each
cache type is already on the map. With S&T's, getting the icons on the
map is a bit of a hit and miss proposition. Using a 3rd party map like
Streets and Trips or Street atlas OR the Garmin mapsourse products, you
can have all your maps with you on the laptop as you move about, The
geobuddy maps are instantly downloaded. If you have a highspeed internet
connection, that is nice. If you don't, you wont be getting any maps.

In Geobuddy, if you hover over any cache icon and name on the map, a
popup of the cache description will appear. thats nice, if you click on
the icon the cache page will show in the cache info window. That is
pretty handy also. No prior setup it is just all there. I do the same
thing with streets and trips but it takes a little setting up. I can
click the cache icon on the S&T map and the cache page pops up (most of
the time unless i mess something up). In geobuddy, it is all set and
ready to go with no fiddling around.

You can also log your finds and do a lot of other things from within
geobuddy. Project waypoints, solve puzzles, set up caching routes, other
neat stuff. IF you didnt have another system setup, this would be
worthwhile to look at. It does save a lot of fiddling around trying to
get an integrated system set up.

I would use it perhaps in conjunction with Streets and trips. If it were
cheaper, I might buy it. If it was free, i would definitely use it but
ya cant make any money giving away all your work. With all the
geocaching I do, It would be handy. :-)
