Two years ago I floated the Black river when it was like this. No outfitters were putting boats on the water. Not even rafts. We were planning 3 days for the lesterville to Hwy K bridge crossing. We finished in a day and a half. Fastest float I have been on so far. Next to that, the Huzzah Creek 3 weeks ago was *just about* too high to float. 5 hour trip in 2 hrs, including about 30 min of goofing around along the way. Zoom, Zoom. I drove over it several times yesterday. I know someone who was going to float it Monday, but it was too high to float. Unfortunately there is now a 1,600 acre clear cut that the river flows through the middle of. Apparently, a crossing of the river was illegally constructed to access the land on the other side of the river. The clear cut was to feed a chip mill. The Black River was even worse than the St. Francis. The muddy water was still in the tree tops. --- I am certified Virus Free, I always twitch!
