New London? Hey I may be out there on business in the next couple of months.
Cool.

My best guess from old childhood memories & canoeing with grandparents in the
hartford/ma/ri areas:

Isn't OLFD is a type/brand of canoe...it's in a boat launch...is there an old
metal canoe sitting around or dry docked around the area somewhere?
Magnetic --> metal canoe?
