This depends on the airline and the rules have not changed much over the last few years. Southwest specifically allows gpsr's except during take off and landing. American Airlines specifically lists them as prohibited.

- This subject was brought up a few months back but I can't remember what was said.  I will be flying Southwest over the holidays and was wondering if airlines have any rules about passengers using a gps in flight?

Thanks,
Jeff
