- Jen, If you used the default install for GSAK then using My Computer to to c:--> program files --> GSAK --> data--> then whatever the name you used for your database (if you did not name it, it will be default) Right click on folder pick rename... name it something else. Then open up gsak, it will create a new empty data file. If you have a backup file you want to restore, you can locate in c:\program files\gsak\backup or you can just open the last gpx file Bruce On 12/12/05, Jen <justjen@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > - > Can someone explain to me in terms I can understand how to do what is > mentioned? > > Sorry I am no computer expert. > > Thanks > Jen > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Glenn Nash" <Glenn.GeocachingAdmin@xxxxxxxxx> > To: "St. Louis Area Geocachers" <geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Monday, December 12, 2005 7:16 PM > Subject: [GeoStL] Re: Unsolvable error problem > > > > - > > This just in from Clyde.... > > > > ------------------------- > > > > > > > > OK, it sounds like there is something "corrupt" in the database that is > > trying to be opened. > > > > To get GSAK started again you can just rename the folder with the same > > name as the database and GSAK will then create a new database with zero > > caches in it. > > > > You can then populate it again by loading gpx files or restoring a known > > good backup of the database. > > > > The folder to rename is the same as the database name and resides in the > > "data" folder of the install folder of GSAK (Unless the data folder was > > set differently via Tools=>Options=>General) > > > > Let me know how you get on > > > > Regards > > Clyde > > > > *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** > > > > On 12/12/2005 at 6:53 PM Glenn Nash wrote: > > > >>Hi Clyde, I can usually help folks along with problems in my local area > >>but this one has me and others stumped.
