- I'm heading out for the Tate Island cache again tomorrow morning. This time I'm taking my bike and pulling my kayak behind it. I'm taking my buddy from Colorado to grab the cache. We are leaving here tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. and that should put us in Portland around 7:30 - 7:45 a.m. We guess we should be in and out in about 45 minutes at the most. Care to join us? LOL. Wish us luck. -----Original Message----- From: geocaching-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:geocaching-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of mrogers07@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, November 21, 2008 10:22 AM To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [GeoStL] Re: Short notice - Treasure on Tate Island cache trip - I know I have already found Tate Island, but I would love to tag along just for the walk and camaraderie. Also, doing the night cache sounds appealing as well...hmmm...could be fun! -Michael ________________________________ From: Gary Braman <Gary.Braman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, November 21, 2008 10:15:46 AM Subject: [GeoStL] Short notice - Treasure on Tate Island cache trip - Bored? Looking for something to do on a cold November morning? How about a nice wade in the river? Or not? GCGT0N Difficulty: Terrain: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guidÏ227fd1-42c1-4c31-9ee8-e0ef3e59fad1 Less than two hours from downtown St. Louis. A small group of us are planning a trip to Treasure on Tate Island cache tomorrow, Saturday, November 22. We are going to meet at the Portland Katy trail access between 11 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. We will begin the walk to the cache at 11:15 a.m. N 38° 55.895 W 091° 43.000 - Katy Trail Parking. The cache was placed 8/30/2003 and has been found by 25 people. We are estimating a hike of 3 1/2 miles round trip. Most of the hike is very level as it follows the Katy trail. We SHOULD be able to cross the land bridge to the island as the river level is low at this time. If you decide to join us, you may want to bring your rubber boots, or some dry socks, shoes, and pants as there is a small chance we will have to wade over to the cache. We expect the entire adventure should take less than three hours. A few of us are also going to attempt the GCMG4N Moon River Night cache in Jefferson City's Ellis-Porter Riverside park at 5 p.m. sharp this Saturday. I know this is short notice, but we wanted to let as many people know as possible. Gary - Fried Okra - Camdenton, Mo. Gary Braman Senior Technical Consultant focusIT, Inc. 8655 E.
