Hmm... Well I've never been to a geocaching101 class so I don't fall into
that category, and I'm guessing that's why I missed that. Maybe I should. I
don't use PQs so I don't fall into that category either. I guess maybe I
should. I would say I'm more of a casual geocacher and plan my caching
around my travels rather than the other way around for the most part.
Honestly I don't visit the SLAGA site nearly as often as I should
apparently, I didn't realize it was mandatory. When I look for upcoming
events I'm looking for something new, and not something that was posted a
year (or more) prior. And as far as events are concerned, People (and food)
are the only reason(s) I attend them, I consider most everyone in SLAGA
pretty good people, and I wouldn't drive the distances I do for an event
full of people I don't like. So Yeah, I agree with the concept of attending
events for the interaction with fellow cachers. Like I said before, I hadn't
seen this before and apparently it's just me and a minority of others that
just need to pay more attention to what is going on within the organization.
I'll step off to the corner with the crabby old men for now.

I started doing this several years ago for the geocaching 101 classes held
at Greensfelder. We hold 2 each year, and it's always the same 5-10 helpers,
so we all know about the event and don't need PQ's to route us there. And on
the other hand, I'd imagine some of you would be glad not to see a new event
constantly appear on your PQ and clutter it when you have no intention of
going. If more of our members viewed our Geostl.com page and paid attention
to the 3 month calendar at the top of the page, this would be a non-issue.

So be it; I'll make a new event page with a new GC number for any event page
I create.
