I don't want to sound like a cheapy, but I use alkaline batts. from the Dollar General Store $5.oo for a 24 pack and they seem to last as long as the other batts. I've used. Hey, I've got kids and things often get left on. Bass pro sells a 48-pack of batteries for cheap and I get about 24 hours off a set... Let's break it down: 48 divided by 2 radios = 24. 24 divided by 2 (one set of batts.) get's you 12 days of power all for under 10 bucks. ~Chris ----- Original Message ----- From: Sara Carter To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, March 31, 2004 1:52 PM Subject: [GeoStL] Question about 2 Way Radios Sorry for those of you who mat have already read this, it was included at the bottom of another post of mine and I think it got lost in the shuffle of legal discussion on FRS/GMRS. Now for my question.......For those of you already using the motorola radios, are you using regular alkaline batteries? Rechargeable AA's? or the rechargables designed for it w/the base unit? And what is battery life on each? I saw the ones on sale at best buy and saw the rechargeable battery kit listed for $24.99. The same radios with the battery set are similar in price at Amazon as the cost to buy them seperately at best buy. Was just trying to decide which would be a better deal for me, especially since I'm horible about sending in rebate forms. Sara
