I'm about to back out. We are leaving in the morning and plans still have
not been made on who carpools with who and who sleeps with whom. I don't
want to get stuck with paying for a room of my own and I would have liked to
share the gas with 2 or 3 other people. Bernie

Subject: [GeoStL] Quad Cities Cache Run 12/26 update...

-
Greetings! I hope everyone had a Happy Holiday! Just wanted to give all
interested folks a status update from the Quad City Cache Runners planning
committee regarding the Quad Cities Cache Run trip. Here goes:

1) Meeting and Starting Location of the Cache Run-
Place: N38 45.702 W90 00.561 (Park N Ride 157 and 270) Take 157 North off
of I-270. There are 2 lots. Do NOT use the one on the Right (East) by the
cemetery. The one we will meet in is on the Left (West). It is a big lot.
Date: Friday, 12/28/2007
Time: 10:30am

Several of us would like to carpool to the cache area so we would like to
know who all is definitely planning on going with the group. You are more
than welcome to go on your own, but please email me directly if you plan on
going with group so that we can work out who is driving and who is
navigating. Also, if you want (or were planning) to go and the time does
not work for you, please contact me.

2) Food (Just for Nancy's sake...even if she's not going. Food plans before
caching plans--always!)

Breakfast and Dinner (after dark once we finish caching for the day) at area
restaurants Lunch -- Bring your own in a cooler or brown bag (In other
words, we are not planning to make any special stops for food for lunch)

3) Oh the weather outside is frightful... Since the forecast for the Quad
Cities area is snow on Friday, we are developing a Plan B as an alternative
to Plan A. I will post whether we go with Plan A or Plan B to this very
newsgroup within the next 24 hours. Call it a "game time decision." The
starting location mentioned in point 1 will not change regardless of which
plan is used.

Plan A: Quad Cities as originally planned
Plan B: Evansville, IN (slightly better weather forecast)

4) Plan A: Quad Cities
Starting cache on Sat: GC12772
Suggested hotel: American Motor Inn (4300 11th St, Rock Island, IL) $39.99
a night and very close to starting cache location

5) Plan B: Evansville, IN
Starting cache on Sat: GC133TW (I guess, that was the first cache to come
up on my PQ of Evansville, IN) Suggested hotel: ??? Don't know yet...

6) Pocket Query Info for either plan:
-500 caches
-Cache Types: Only Traditional, Virtual, Letterbox Hybrid, Webcam, and
Earthcaches.
-Caches of any container
-Return info on caches that I haven't found AND caches which are active
-Terrain: less than or equal to 2.5
-Difficulty: less than or equal to 3.0
-Caches centered on waypoint (depends on the plan): either GC12772 or
GC133TW

Ok, information overload... hope to hear from you soon and we will see some
of you on Friday!
