Why cant you use the shape file you currently have and convert it to a kml?
After you have converted the shapefile to a kml then you could use the kml
in google earth and then you could also load in the gpx files of caches to
see where they fall in regards to land ownership?
Just my 2 cents. Please contact me off list if you would like help with
this.
Land ownership as a shapefile would meet Glens request, plus you allow the
community to work with these files by keeping them in a google earth
friendly format (kml). And the added benefit of this is that you can use
google earth to work with the cache location files (gpx)
