Arrrr, just heard about this from Pondigger: Mark Twain Lake, MO — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake invites the public to visit the lake for a night of pirate fun on Saturday, July 30, at the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center. The event will kick off at 3 p.m. with a global positioning system treasure hunt. Between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. there will be a series of pirate-themed activities and programs including navigation, knot tying, treasure making and more. Pirates of all ages are invited and encouraged to attend in their own pirate costumes. Prizes and decorations will be provided in part by the Missouri Department of Conservation, Long John Silver’s of Hannibal and the Salt River Navigation Company of Florida. The M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center is located on Route J, south of the Clarence Cannon Dam.
