- A 30 foot discrepancy shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. I've seen that much between two of the new Garmin 60CSx as one cache and right on at the next. The geometry of the satellites has a lot to do with it along with the orientation of the unit and if it's held horizontal, etc., etc., etc. People will make that comment some to let you know that their coordinates didn't match yours, others to let other finders know that there are differences. I wouldn't worry about 30 feet. If you keep getting mentions of over 50 feet of difference, I'd go out with my unit and check again. Once at the site, let the GPS'r set for about 5 minutes and see what the reading is. Walk away about 100 feet and come back and do it again. Average a couple set of readings like that to get a good set of coordinates. I always check my cache coordinates with Google maps to make sure I'm close before I release it to be found. Just a final safety measure I do so that I don't inconvienience other cachers by trying to find a cache that is misplaced. My 2 cents worth.
