This was in the Post-Dispatch yesterday, looks like a great place for a cache or two or 10. Too bad it's not in my area. Strider TRAIL OF THE WEEK: Riverwoods Trail ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 06/11/2007 TRAIL OF THE WEEK: Riverwoods Trail Where: At the Missouri River and St. Charles Rock Road about a quarter-mile west of the Earth City Expressway in St. Louis County. How long: 1.5 miles Surface: Paved and mostly flat, but it can be muddy. Trail description: This is designed to be a panorama trail for people who like scenery and wetlands with their walk. It overlooks about a mile of the Missouri River and is mostly shaded. Look for three overlook sites along the trail. Much of the overlook is of the St. Charles Main Street recreation district and Frontier Park and the backside of a casino-hotel. But the trail itself is quite pristine. User's note: There's a ribbon-cutting there at 11 a.m. June 20. It's a new trail. No drinking water or restrooms. Wheelchair-accessible: Yes. Parking: Right turn off St. Charles Rock Road just before the river.
