It reminds me of that tone sound the tv used to make when you woke up and the 
indian chief was on the tv late at night.

  Ok, I can hear it. It's really annoying too! I used to work in a video 
transfer studio and I ALWAYS knew when one of the monitors was still on after 
we shut down for the day. Is that humm just a distraction from the actual tone?

  Thank goodness.  I guess I'm not old!
  When I taught computers before I left the room and turned out the light, I 
could tell if a monitor was left on.  I could hear it.
