Being more than a wee bit Scottish I knew at once this was what I had always lacked in my life. Just ordered three!! Happiness is......... Apparently "The Hunt for the Spurtle" was quite the adventure for all involved. So much so, they called home so the spurtle maker could speak with me. I was honored. I've never been singled out to be spoken to by a maker of a spurtle. He said everyone was up in arms in search of the elusive spurtle. He said the reports were that spurtles were searched for from vendors near and far -- and no one even knew what it was LOL. He reported that there were rumors the King and the members of the court were looking for "my" spurtle. He wanted to know what was my spurtle-need motivation. I told him I wandered on to his page from the Ren Faire page, came across the "spurtle" and that not only did this seem like a really fun word to say, but it appears to be something every household should have ;so, I called my daughter and told her not to come home without the perfect spurtle. He assured me it's happening. There was also talk of a "Spurtle Success Group Picture". (I know you can't wait .. can you?) Tell them, "Your wife sent us". Also, could you tell them to bring me back a couple of spurtles -- I've decided I need these. I've tried to call them to send my daughter on a "spurtle hunt" but they aren't answering... Oh .. and could you also tell them I really AM cleaning the house and closet and I'm really NOT hanging out online all day enjoying my house and my laptop alllllllllll to myself. My husband, Tom, is rather tall and rather gray hair. The last I saw him he was wearing a Stihl hat, blue jean shorts and some kind of shirt. My blonde daughter is ten and also very tall -- especially compared to the too extra petite girls she's with. She is in a long skirt, vest, shirt. (and I'll assume no one will attempt to kidnap her based on my descriptions -- they've been studying survival all year and she pretty much has the "run, scream and act like a complete crazy person down pat!) The other dad may be dressed up black pants and puffy shirt. If you see a tall, large someone wearing blue jean shorts who appears to be mocking a shorter dark-haired-dressed-up someone -- that would probably be our group. Tom responds well to the hard apple cider. Garbed, of course! Going as a mundane just isn't as much fun. Its like going without a GPSr when you know there is a cache right in the parking lot: it just isn't done! Where are folks meeting? We need to meet up with another group, too. -Thystle FreeLists Mailing List Manager <ecartis@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: geocaching Digest Fri, 23 May 2008 Volume: 07 Issue: 142 In This Issue: [GeoStL] anyone else going to the renaissance faire this wee ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message.
