A local woman I know (she's a friend of one of my best friends) named
Melissa Whiteman has been painting amazing oil paintings of lightning and
tornados for a few years. She has a web site now and also is featured in
the Jan/Feb issue of Weatherwise, a magazine for weather geeks like myself
and my husband. If you're interested in storms at all, check out these
sites and try to get a look at the magazine. Barnes and Noble has it now,
Borders will have it soon. Her paintings are beautiful, they look like
photographs, and she taught herself how to do it.
