Well that's what the class is all about. It provides you with the knowledge of
the do's and don'ts, rights and non-rights of the "carry" laws. Not everyone
knows this and will increase your IQ and your ability to make rational
decisions on the spot. You already have the right to carry a loaded gun, the
law just requires you to take the class before they issue you a permit to do
so. And yes, you have to take a proficiency test, using two different hand
guns, (yours or the instructors) and you must hit the target a certain number
of times. The class I took expanded you knowledge to protecting yourself in
your home and how to deal with intruders. If you have no concern with
protecting your life or your loved ones - the class is not for you.

No IQ test?
No common sense quiz?
No measurement of how impulsive you might be?
Just 8 hours and you can carry around a loaded gun?
Is there even a test to prove that you can come close to hitting a target!?

I got my CCW permit at Top Gun Shooting Sports at HW55 and Imperial/Main
streets in Imperial. They have classes there just about every Saturday and you
can "qualify" right there during the class. You don't even need to have your
own gun. Classes are $125 for the 8 hour session. All paperwork and permit
forms will be given to you at that time. Call 636-464-4867 to find out the
class schedule and reserve a seat in their class room.BBD1

Hubby did his through Florissant Valley Community College with the shooting
done at the ..Berkeley? shooting range. He liked the class but decided that
based on the shooting ability of the people in the class that the more people
who "Qualify" for concealed carry , the more people will NEED concealed carry.
He got his CCL before St. Louis County worked out all their kinks and his is
issued from Florida. Figures.
