Greg as far as I know you can't just copy program files over like you could in the good old days of DOS. I haven't been around PC's and software like I used to, but since Windows 95 came along any program on your PC must be "installed". There are lots of files and registry entries made by the installation. So if you can't find the installation CD you're SOL. But if you contact me offline, I may have something for you. ;) Barry http://www.cbgundaker.com/search/agent/detail.jsp?publicid=BBRYANT ----- Original Message ----- From: Greg Ponder To: slaga Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2004 3:35 PM Subject: [GeoStL] NGR: Canon Digital Cam Software Question Lead in information: 2. My hard drive bit the dust last week. 3. I had a backup of my Canon folder in the programs folder. By this I mean, I had copied the program files onto a backup CD. 4. I replaced the Canon folder from this backup CD and all its contents in the programs folder on my new hard drive. Can anyone help me? Any suggestions at all? I really don't want to have to pay Canon for software that I've already purchased (but misplaced). I've contacted Canon by email and purchasing the software was the only help they offered.
