Maybe I should not say this but I am so dumb that it happened to me once. I
loaded the spool and it worked fine but would not feed out. When I opened it
up I found that in my rush I had wound the line the wrong way on the spool and
instead of feeding out every time I hit it on the ground it would wind up.
Should have slowed down and looked at the little arrows on the spool. Oh well
that's what men do sometimes, won't ask for directions. Won't ever do it again
that's for sure.

it probably is spring loaded and sometimes .. ok here comes the technical part
-- it just gets kinda fused to itself from the heat and the friction. He
didn't add any more than Libby did. Could be the line is the wrong size too --
probably have to google the right size if it's anything other 060.

Keep trying?? Those things are very frustrating!

With an old one I used to have you had to bump the string holder on solid
ground while it was running. There was a big bulbous thing in the center of the
unit and you had to bump that flat on the ground. Never worked really well but
that is how it was supposed to work. Otherwise, hold in on it and pull on the
string with tweezers or needlenose pliers. The string will feed out a few
inches at a time. Then depress again and repeat.

Or hire some kid to do it!

I have an apparently old model (belongs to the neighbor...I'm her
lawngirl) and it needs string. It has to be put in the spool....and I'm not
doing something right.

I managed to get it loaded. And used it some but then the string wore off I
guess...cuz when I flipped it over there wasn't any string coming out.

Maybe I'm making it too hard. Getting another isn't an option. I just need
to get this one up and running again.
