[GeoStL] Jim of the Incrediberds update

Almost 3 weeks ago Jim of the Incrdiberds suffered major hand trauma during
a hunting accident.
Jim underwent his surgery the other day, and what follows is an excerpt from
an email his wife Tracie sent me.
Here's what they did in surgery:
Repaired arteries and blood vessels in hand.
Took a nerve from lower left leg to repair nerve in hand. There will be a
spot on top of left foot that will be numb.
Took bone and tissue from lower left back rib cage area.
2 Skin grafts from left outer thigh.
This afternoon when I saw him he was a bit sore. He described it as "like I
was hit by a bus".
He will probably be in ICU through the weekend. He will be in SLU Hosp.
another 7-10 days after that.
Dr K told Jim that in 6 months or so he will need some tendon work for his
right thumb.
Jim is in good spirits and is already planning on how he will learn to bowl
lefty!
