I don't think anyone is trying to play any guilt trips on anyone. It just
seems like there is this core group of SLAGA members who do everything. And
the rest of the SLAGA members expect to reap the rewards of this core groups
efforts. The MIGC staff worked and planned hard for 6 months on this event,
not just for SLAGA members but for the participants who traveled far and
wide to attend.
I'll give an example of something.
There is this event in say Illinios that I really want to go to. But it is
a long time away, 4 months. Anything could come up in that time. So I
don't commit. In the meantime the Illinois event staff is just a planning
and organizing away. What do you know, something came up. I have to choose
which event I will go to. I really should do the other event. However, I
am free the weekend after the Illinois event. I'll just go then and see if
I can pick up some EVENT caches to log. They should understand, I had other
commitments.
I've been to a few events, and I know I would not have been able to log the
event or anything that goes with the event if I didn't make the event.
Unless they were permanment caches.
So, you know people, I think this was an event. If you were not able to
attend the event that was very unfortuante. Because it was a total blast!
The caches have been left out for STAFF to find. Since staff was busy
working the event, they didn't have time to find the caches but sure as heck
deserve to find and log them.
This message was not intended to make anyone feel guilty. I'm sorry if you
feel guilty. Sometimes that what our choices make us feel. But I don't
think anyone should feel guilty over this event. It was a blast, sorry some
people missed it. Maybe next year.
(Sorry for the soapbox.)

Bridget
