MessageSpeaking of deer right in camp, I was in a subdivision off Hwy D, east of New Melle this morning. There was a doe standing about 10 feet from the road, with triplets about 15 feet from the road. I stopped the car, took some photos with my phone (unfortunately didn't have a better camera with me) and they just stood there like they wanted to be shot, with a camera that is. ;-) Gale ----- Original Message ----- From: Bernie To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, August 21, 2007 3:42 PM Subject: [GeoStL] Re: Hawn State Park I highly recommend it. Deer come right in to the camp ground. Bring some swimwear to wade around in the creek. Also, there is a cache on top of Evans Mound that has never been activated, Bernie -----Original Message----- From: geocaching-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:geocaching-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Brian and Sue Steele Sent: Tuesday, August 21, 2007 2:57 PM To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [GeoStL] Hawn State Park Has anyone camped at Hawn State Park before? I'm looking for a park to tent camp at during a girls weekend out, maybe in October. We're wondering if this is a good park. I've never been in the area before. It is located in St. Genevieve.
