I have rode the trail a number of times and the trail surface varies greatly
depending on where you are. From the Katy Trail to the big rock pile landfill
is mostly crushed rock like the Katy Trail. Sections north of there tend to
have a rougher surface. I would suggest a fat tire bike like a mountain or
hybrid bike. There is one steep hill along the route.

Jeff, that was my whole idea of placing all these caches to put on a SLAGA
event to where SLAGA will provide the food and we do our thing on bikes.
There is no way we can have the project done by Nov 3-4. I have asked for
help on the freelist, but got no help. If I have anything to say about it,
it will take place on a Sat. We have several coordinates on paper for the
whole trail where we will place caches, but it takes time. So far only Mike
and me have placed anything. Bernie

With all the new caches popping up on the Hamburg
Trail in Weldon Springs, it might be time to do a
group bike ride to check the trail out. The group can
be large or small.
Has anyone road the trail before? Is this trail a
crushed rock trail like the Katy? Where is the best
place to park? Just some questions I thought of.
I am thinking that either the weekend of November 3-4
or Monday November 12.
This is just an idea to see if anyone would like to
gather for a bike ride.
