Just wanted to let you all know that I am direct
contact with the Forest Service including Nancy Feakes
and several of the rangers and archaeologists. They
have expressed an interest in doing a cache that will
be hidden jointly by them and me and I will be talking
with the ranger in charge of Kaintuck Hollow area to
hopefully set this up.
Also I have found another area of sensitivity and
being an amateur archaeologist I can understand their
point of view. I had expressed an interest in locating
a cache near a large cave in the Piney River area but
was concerned about the impact of people on the
archaeological resources there so I asked first and
they told me that they would prefer not to have the
location advertised (this is no longer on topo maps
and other sources of information so it would be harder
for pot hunters to find). I stand by the Forest
Service on this decision and told them I would not
place a cache there. However the Archaeologist in
charge of the entire Mark Twain area in MO contacted
me and expressed an interest in doing some kind of
cache to highlight and make people more aware of the
archaeological resources in our state so it could be
something good coming out of it too.

I will keep you all informed

Dan (Thunder)
