Taken from KSDK.com news website...... Efforts Underway To Demolish Murder Scene 8/1/2002 10:54:26 PM The City of Valley Park has begun the long process of demolishing the old glass factory, the site where Casey Williamson's body was found last Friday. Her accused killer, Johnny Johnson, remains behind bars. Wednesday night the Valley Park Board of Alderman gave approval to begin clearing the area and transforming the land into a park. The foundation of the old factory is three football fields in length. Crews will grind up some of the foundation and it will be used for the new levee. The expected cost to demolish the site could run eight million dollars. The city has been asked to hold off on the project until it has the approval of the Corps of Engineers and the Missouri Historical Society. But Mayor Michel says the city can't afford to wait. He says it is time to begin the healing process. In the meantime, a crisis management team will be in Valley Park next week to help residents cope with this tragedy.
