- It's easier to send it in for repair. Garmin will turn it around within the week. I don't think they've been charging for the repair, even when the unit is out of warranty. My parents sent thiers in recently for the same reason, and even though it was out of warranty, Garmin sent back a new (probably reconditioned) unit just a few days later. There's a phone number on the Garmin website that you can call to get the return authorization and shipping instructions. The rubber gasket around my Garmin eTrex has ripped and won't stay on. I've had it for a couple of years now and don't really want to try to send it back. Did anyone find a good solution to sticking it back on without creating a mess? Thanks. Roger **************************************** Our WebPage!
