- Maybe it's just me but I think the old way in is much easier, and prettier too. The "trail" in via the new lot traverses the side of a hill for about 1/2 a mile or so. The old way in has a real trail. It is uphill a lot but I find that a lot easier than going across a hill...much easier on my ankles.. A few folks had their GPS on all the time, maybe they can help you with the track. From what I've read, this is such a beautiful area everyone should visit it. On behalf of this wimp (and maybe some others) who weren't willing to brave the cold, would it be possible for one of you brave, weather hardened, trailblazing cachers to share the GPS track of the route you took (in a GPX file). The track from the new parking lot would be helpful in finding the best creek crossing, staying off of private land and minimizing the hill climbing (if that's possible). We would also be retracing your steps and be in awe of your treck in the challenging weather conditions. Or, is it improper to ask for the GPS track to caches as it could be considered a spoiler?
