- I'm fairly new to Geocaching. The first time I found a "cache that wasn't there" was when I found just the lid to a cache that had been muggled. I decided it would be best to post a note to the cache listing and email the owner. I goofed a bit by accidently picking "needs to be archived" instead of just posting a note so *gln was notified as well. Even though I found part of the cache, I didn't feel right posting a find. Others may feel, in this situation, that they found part of it and it counts. I guess that is their choice. If I can't find a cache, I just assume I can't find it and post a Did not Find for that cache. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it is found again and then give it another try. I've heard of some cache's where someone couldn't find it, and created a new one and placed it in the same area, then posted a find. The original owner will come back, find his and theirs and remove theirs and deny their find. Then those "finders" get irate about it. I would probably help repair a cache (adding baggies, adding a log book if old one is full, etc...) but I wouldn't just create one if I couldn't find the one that is supposed to be there. In other words, I assume I just didn't find it and post a Did Not Find. -maylith **************************************** Our WebPage!
