Don't know how many aren't on the watchlist for THE LOCAL NEWS, so this may
be rehashing something you've already read.

> About a month ago, I went hunting for a place to spend a long weekend, and
grab a few caches. I checked out areas within a 5 hour drive from
Louisville. I pulled a lot of PQ's and studied them for interesting spots.
When I saw the caches along Grant's Trail, I knew I had found our spot. We
just love caching on bikes, so our decision was made. Last weekend we
packed up the bikes and headed to St. Louis. While it was nice and toasty
(ok it was downright HOT!!!), we had a great time. Grant's Trail was
awesome, we went 48 for 48 on hunting the caches along the trail, but we
earned every smiley. There were too many clever caches to start mentioning
them by name, but I could tell that the hiders in the area take great pride
in their cache placements and containers. Other than Grant's Trail, we
tried to hit the major parks in the area, as well as many of the smaller
parks. I am amazed to say that out of the 130+ caches we found, I can't
remember finding 1 light pole or gua rdrail cache. I'm not opposed to
hunting LP's or GR's, but they don't really take a lot of imagination to
hunt or hide. I just think that is a great testament to the cache hiders in
the area.

> So, I just want to take this time to thank all of the local cachers for
doing such a fine job. I will definitely recommend St. Louis to anyone who
really enjoys caching for what it was meant to be. There are other places
where you can find MORE caches, but I haven't seen a place where you could
hunt BETTER caches....and I'll take QUALITY over QUANTITY every time.
