Exactly. That's what made it fun. Logs don't have to be lengthy and involved to be fun or memorable -- just to make you go .. "whu?" It's interesting the things that stick with you (me) .. there was a cow log on Ozguff's cache at West Port that cracked me up lol. And injuries -- those were fun to read about lol.

LeRoy was great at logging his left behind bowling balls and pianos. I agree, we need to start logging about our experiences. It was great to read the stories instead of a bunch of letters. TFTC TNLNSL. There are some SLAGA people who use to crack me up with their logs.

A good "story" or something to introduce the spot to the cacher can make up for the "Every day" aspect of the hide. For a write up like that, I'd fine the cache and then write a really long about our local "meeting up" place. I miss reading the "early days" of logs -- especially from a lot of the SLAGA people and their randomness. You don't seen many "left a lawnmower, took a chainsaw" type logs lol.

Here, here! I'm looking for a good location at the Winfield IGA, which could be a lamppost. There's nothing great about our IGA, other than it serves at times as the Cultural center, where friends run into each other and visit. My neighbor spent two hours in the store at its Grand Opening because she ran into numerous friends she hadn't seen for a while and stopped to visit. Also, the people who work there will rival any Dierbergs, Schmucks, or Shop and Save. It's just a point of interest in town, that I consider worthy of a cache.

Again, a very Merry Christmas!

Wayne

Your logic has so many holes in it I can drive my environmentally unfriendly, gas sucking SUV through it.

I just heard from a cacher that would not walk across the street to see some stupid mural painted in a wall. Nothing could be more boring. Oh well, there goes my series of really cool mutual lamp post caches.

I am sitting in a parking lot where there is a cache at a lamp pole that I have yet to log. Probably never will BUT as I sit here I see is a really cool rock cut in the cliff that i Never saw before. WOW, i should pay better attention when i am in the parking lot. Know Future could tell us all about the cool geology right here for all to see.

Before that big house landed on my floral designer sister she would have told me that the giant Christmas wreath displayed on the store is oh so very cool. Well, it's kind of neat but to me, oh so cool is a stretch. A friends dad is a graphic artist from the old days, he would be pleased to see all the neat graphical signage that they are doing now a days and there is a large selection of cool signs here. Still, here I sit next to this lame lamppost cache that I still probably never log.

Ya can't legislate or regulate quality or lameness. I tried for a long time as I looked at virtual caches. What is lame to me was always very cool to the cache placer. And so it is with caches. My lame ain't your lame but may be someones best cache ever. Go figure.

That's easy.

Caches that show you an interesting location or are hidden in a challenging way.

A LPC by a mural would show you an interesting location so it would be quality. A LPC in a Walmart parking lot would not show you an interesting location. It would not meet the definition. Once you have seen one Walmart lamppost, you've seen them all. But a mural is a unique and interesting location.

What I would like to see (if we cannot ban lame caches) is a Numbers attribute. It would be defined as caches to get your numbers up that do not show you an interesting location and are not hidden in a challenging way.

It simply amazes me with all Groundspeak keeps adding they cannot add something to allow those of us who are fed up with and do not enjoy the lame caches to filter them out. There are over 50 attributes already. If someone cannot be bothered with taking the time to find an interesting location or hide a cache in a challenging location, it seems reasonable to expect them to identify their caches. But then again when you see these numbers hounds shuffling caches to save a few seconds and throw away series, maybe I am expecting too much.

Could you give a definition of what "quality" is.

Please keep in mind that the definition has to work for all ages of all
types of cachers with all differing abilities.

A definition that is short works the best so limit yourself to a
sentence or two.

One two, three, go ...

I don?t like it-I think it pushes quantity over quality.
