Nah, the locations aren't too secret...there was an abundance of mushrooms when I went, especially of the coral variety. I would guess I got 7-10 lbs. of them and did not take all I saw. Puffballs were a bit harder to come by, but I found them. If you ever want to go out and give it a shot, let me know. -Michael ----- Original Message ---- From: Bernie Ver Hey <Happykraut@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, September 11, 2008 5:35:10 PM Subject: [GeoStL] Re: Fall mushroom hunting? Michael, I?m sure your spots are probably top secrete. However, if some are not and you ever want company, I would love to go. The only ones that I eat and recognize in the fall are the puffballs. And maybe a Saddle Dryad. Hey guys... Do any of you do any fall mushroom hunting? I went out yesterday to an area that produces decently and made off with some puffballs, coral mushrooms, black trumpets (related to chanterelles) and cinnabar chanterelles. Today I bagged some regular golden chanterelles. Good stuff! Cheers, -Michael
