Simply put, you can set a date on geocaching.com. Once the owner posts
an "Owner Maintenance" or "Update Coordinates" log, the date is
removed. If no log has been added by the date you set, the cache is
automatically archived.

That's a simple fix that doesn't take much of your time. In fact, it
can be automated even more. You set the date (say 2 months) and it
automatically notifies the cache owner. When the date is 30 days away,
another email to the owner. Yet a third at 2 weeks, a fourth at 1
week, and a last 48 hours before. On the date -- it's archived. The
reviewer only has one thing to do: set the archive date.
