I agree with you Dan but when you look at how someone like the NPS interprets treasure hunting, they seem to think that means buried treasure, which is specifically prohibited on GC.com! What's wrong with "Treasure Hunting" .....it is not that far wrong and it is a good catch phrase term.....anyone who sticks with caching knows what it really is and those that don't well who cares. Central Standard Time, lake_wannabees@xxxxxxxxx writes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook and "treasure," usually toys or trinkets of little value. Today, well over 440,000 geocaches are registered on various websites devoted to the sport. Geocaches are currently placed in 222 countries around the world and on all seven continents, including Antarctica. How do we get them to change the definition? Joyce It now says that it is an outdoor orienteering game..... How's that?
