- Jim, Maybe the unstated part of the solution that makes it work is that it is a Magellan, as you mentioned in your original E-mail. Or one of the other off-brands that are not designed with as much forethought as some. Remember, the functionality that you are seeing is strictly in software, not a component of the GPS system at large.
