Andy, I would really hope that you will join us tomorrow on the group
hunt. I can ALMOST guarantee you a good time. Hope to see you. Bernie.

- Hey guys,
I think the list should be limited to Geocaching, abortion, gun control, human cloning, religion (or lack of,) racial issues, nuclear weapons, violence in video games and the media, the death penalty, drug legalization, the Kennedy assasination, school shootings, postal shootings, rap, Catcher in the Rye, and dog fights, but NEVER sexuality.
I kid, but I know things are bound to drift off topic from time to time but a lot of things that are not directly geocaching related may be still be of interest such as:
Cycling Park Legislation Conservation Homeland Security and it's effect on GPS users The Weather Geostl.com being hacked Etc etc etc.
But unless someone is going to have a group cache combined with a same sex marriage, it's totally pointless as far as this list is concerned.
How are we to tell the difference between an
informational camping NGR message, and a stem cell
research NGR message from the subject line? I didn't
pick up on what the post was about till I opened it. I'm not an acronym dictionary.
I've been part of newsgroups and mailing lists from
the old BBS days, and when things get all hot and
bothered over something totally off topic, it just
ruins the list. People stop reading and miss events. Important information gets lost, and most of all
people get their feelings hurt in a place that they
assumed was a safe haven.
Some questions are better left alone. My stance on sexuality would probably make most of you blind. So I'm not going get into that in here out of respect for people who don't approve of what I may or may not do. I believe that most folks in here would rather not know my opinion on a whole world of subjects. I try and use common sense. There's a difference between censorship and yelling the "F" word during a wedding.
I'm a lot of people's worst nightmare, but I like to cache. I don't want to ruin future group events by dividing the community. We shouldn't do things to make people feel excluded from the sport as ultimately it will only hurt ourselves, by having fewer caches and fewer cachers as people find new hobbies out of frustration.
I really need this. Geocaching is the first hobby I've really gotten into in a very very very long time. Right now I'm at a point in my life were having a hobby is very important. I've been a member of this list for a while but have avoided group events because I'm afraid people won't like me, and that's without a flame war. I was planning on going to the JC thing Jan 31st, but now I'm not so sure. I was thinking about doing the group cache tommorrow, but is it going to be a cache hunt or a fist fight?
See what I mean?
And speaking of not drinking, those old bar rules should apply to Geocaching: No religion or politics. Probably the only smart thing to ever be developed in a bar.
