My trusty, archaic Magellan 315 still gets the job done :-)
I did look inside of the '315 once and noticed all those brass
epicycloidal<http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Epicycloidal>gears, but
never gave it much thought. As long as I recalibrate it once a
week against the orrery <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orrery> that I have in
my basement, it seems to work fine. I don't know where I'd be if I didn't
have my trusty Post slide rule
<http://www.thefreedictionary.com/slide+rule>with which to recalculate
the orbit of
Ganymede <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganymede_%28moon%29> though....
