Well, as many of you know, I was inspired by the cache 'La Roche de la Croix, but had posted about not being able to use the 'island' I wanted because it was in USFS territory. Then Mark (Ooga Booga) pointed me to Tate Island on the Missouri just 15 west of Hermann. So, we put everything together and there's now an alternative to the Mississippi River cache, although this one has an odd story behind it.

So, take a look at the cache page. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=89582

It will only be accessible by land for a little while longer. With the current rainy days, I expect the river will return to normal level within the month, but I'm not a river specialist.
