we currently consider in danger given the way he has been removed from
the scene by those we expected to support him. This initiative does not
have any great organization behind it, so organizing ourselves, working,
assembling the infrastructure, is totally our task. Everyone who
contributes with what can and want.

mailing list (to which all those who support the campaign are invited to

the website). We can consider as we see this website, domain, list and
email as definitive or provisional in the short, medium and long term. I
personally would prefer a mailing list based on Mailman and whose terms
of use do not imply "comply with copyright, trademark, and patent laws"
and "Agree that any suggestions or comments you submit to FreeLists,
including but not limited to ideas for or potential improvements to the
Service are both non-confidential and become our property. We may for
example use your testimonials on our site, or encorporate a suggestion
for a feature into the Service without acknowledgment or compensation of
any kind" but I have not achieved anything better in this time, I would
also like an email without sending limit because this has caused the
paralysis of mailings this week on several occasions.
A multilingual mailing list or one for each language? We speak about it.
My personal position is clear: a single list, because this avoids the
organisational chaos of parallel debates which ultimately lead to
divergent conclusions and actions. This implies an additional effort
that I consider acceptable with the existence of automatic translators
(e.g. https://www.deepl.com but I don't know if there are free
software alternatives). If the person who sends an email to the list has
no possibilities, time or desire more than to write it in a single
language, the people who receive the email may bother to use an
automatic translator if we do not understand the language in which it is
written. Each person who sends an email to the list that personally
values in which language or languages they can and want to write to
achieve a better organizational functioning of the list (I personally
write my emails in bilingual English and Spanish seeking that almost all
the people on the list can read it directly). I believe that being
mature people, this can be managed well.
When to start using the mailing list intensively? My suggestion is to
wait a few days until the several dozen people who have written in the
last couple of days have time to read the answer and sign up for the
list. Below, in "What can I do?" it indicates work that can be done in a
personal capacity (diffusion, sending of mails and messages,...).
Additionally, it is possible that while we are waiting for those days
someone will get a mailing list without conditions such as the mentioned
"comply with copyright, trademark, and patent laws".
Richard Stallman supports the Free Software Force? Anyone who knows
Richard personally won't be surprised by the following. His emotional
relationship with the GNU Project he created and the foundation he
created for his financial support (the Free Software Foundation) is
properly the blind and unconditional love relationship of a father with
his children. No matter how much the Free Software Foundation renounces
him, even if it insults and discredits him, Richard will always say that
the Free Software Foundation is good and that we love it. The facts are
that Richard Stallman suffers a persecution promoted by sfconservancy,
the Free Software Foundation looks the other way, refuses to support
Richard or condemn what he is suffering and on top of that the Free
Software Foundation maintains its friendship with the sfconservancy that
promotes persecution against Richard. I think we cannot and must not
support such an Free Software Foundation.
The Free Software Force is not intended to end or confront the Free
Software Foundation, it is not the purpose. The Free Software Force
wants to ensure that there is an organization that guarantees the
defense of free software as Richard Stallman has defended for decades,
that protects and defends his legacy, an organization that recognizes
and does not repudiate the person who has achieved so much with so much
effort. If that organization is the Free Software Foundation, great, but
its refusal to support or endorse the work of Richard Stallman makes one
fear the worst. The best option, the option we should try first, is that
the Free Software Foundation rectify, break its relationship with
sfconservancy, and publicly show its outright rejection of the
persecution suffered by Richard Stallman, unreservedly acknowledge his
work and reinstate him to the team as he deserves. But if this is not
achieved, then we are willing to organize ourselves to create a free
software reference organization strictly adjusted to the free software
ideas promoted by Richard Stallman, that does not feel ashamed but
recognizes the great work of Richard Stallman.
What can I do?
1) Subscribe to the mailing list (
https://www.freelists.org/list/fsforce ;).
2) Spread the announcement ( https://fsforce.noblogs.org ;). That nobody
who might be interested, is not because of ignorance that exists: send
the corresponding email or message to your friends and colleagues,
publish it on the websites you can. That nobody who has supported
(actively or passively) the campaign against Richard Stallman is without
the replica of those who support him: send the corresponding mail or
message to all websites that published messages against the permanence
of Richard Stallman as a disseminator of free software, also to those
who remain silent about his persecution, write to sfconservancy (
https://sfconservancy.org/about/board/ ;), the associated software
projects ( https://sfconservancy.org/projects/current/ ;), and the Free
Software Foundation ( https://www.fsf.org/about/staff-and-board ;).
Be prepared to receive bad answers, from my experience. Regarding
personal disqualifications, it is easy to point out that they read the
announcemente text, which does not analyze or support Richard's
statements in his personal capacity on topics other than free software.
About qualifying you as a spammer who sends unsolicited mail: if the
person has not made a public statement against Richard Stallman, it is
easy to argue that being the recipient a person interested in free
software, you have considered that he may be interested in your mail and
you cannot previously guess whether or not he wants to receive an e-mail
on this particular subject (obviously do not insist on sending more mail
on the subject if he has told you that he does not want); if the person
has made a public statement against Richard, it is easy to argue that
you can show your position just as he did previously.
3) Work together to improve the Free Software Force infrastructure. A
logo, maybe a mailing list (Mailman?), maybe another email, maybe
another website (Drupal?). Later on, if the Free Software Foundation
does not rectify and continues on the wrong track, it will be necessary
to legalize (my suggestion is that in a country without "Patriot Act")
and move forward in organizing and creating content for the Free
Software Force, doing better what can be improved with respect to the
Free Software Foundation, for example to establish that all content of
the Free Software Force is published under free licenses (the Free
Software Foundation uses non-free licenses for reasons that do not
justify it) or a certification of free distributions and hardware
compatible with free software that is more transparent, objective and
free of economic conditions (for example, there are distributions that
strictly comply with the "GNU Guidelines for Free System Distributions"
that never came to be or were removed from the list without
justification).

¿Quien está detrás de la campaña? Personas diversas que compartimos
nuestro apoyo al software libre en el sentido estricto que Richard

¿Cuándo comenzar a usar intensamente la lista de correo? Mi sugerencia
es esperar unos días hasta que las varias decenas de personas que han
escrito en el último par de días tengan de tiempo a leer la respuesta e
inscribirse en la lista. Más abajo, en "¿Qué puedo hacer yo?" se indica
trabajo que pueden ir haciéndose ya a título personal (difusión, envío
de correos y mensajes,...). Adicionalmente, es posible que mientras
esperamos esos días alguien consiga una lista de correo, sin condiciones
como la citada "no infringir las leyes de copyright, marcas comerciales
y patentes".
¿Una lista de correo multilingüe o una por cada lengua? Lo hablamos. Mi
postura personal es clara: una única lista, porque esto evita el caos
organizativo de debates en paralelo que conducen finalmente a
conclusiones y acciones divergentes. Esto implica un esfuerzo adicional
que considero asumible existiendo traductores automáticos (p. ej.
https://www.deepl.com pero desconozco si hay alternativas de software
libre). Si la persona que envía un correo a la lista no tiene
posibilidades, tiempo o ganas más que escribirlo en una única lengua,
las personas que recibimos el correo podemos molestarlo en usar un
traductor automático si no entendemos la lengua en la que está escrito.
Cada persona que envíe un correo a la lista que valore personalmente en
qué lengua o lenguas puede y quiere escribir para lograr un mejor
funcionamiento organizativo de la lista (yo personalmente escribo mis
correos en bilingüe inglés y español buscando que la práctica totalidad
de las personas de la lista pueda leerlo directamente). Creo que siendo
personas maduras, esto se puede gestionar bien.
¿Richard Stallman apoya la Free Software Force? Quien conozca
personalmente a Richard no le sorprenderá lo siguiente. Su relación
emocional con el Proyecto GNU que el creó y la fundación que él creó
para su apoyo financiero (la Free Software Foundation) es propiamente la
relación de amor ciego e incondicional de un padre con sus hijos. Por
más que la Free Software Foundation reniegue de él, incluso si lo
insulta y desacredita, Richard siempre dirá que la Free Software
Foundation es buena y que la queramos. Los hechos son que Richard
Stallman sufre una persecución promovida por sfconservancy, la Free
Software Foundation mira para otro lado, se niega a apoyar a Richard o a
condenar lo que está sufriendo y además la Free Software Foundation
mantiene su amistad con la sfconservancy que promueve la persecución
contra Richard. Creo que no podemos ni debemos apoyar una Free Software
Foundation así.
La Free Software Force no tiene como objetivo acabar o confrontarse con
la Free Software Foundation, no es el propósito. La Free Software Force
quiere asegurar que exista una organización que garantice la defensa del
software libre tal y como Richard Stallman ha defendido durante décadas,
que proteja y defienda su legado, una organización que reconozca y no
repudie a la persona que ha logrado tanto con tanto esfuerzo. Si esa
organización es la Free Software Foundation, genial, pero su rechazo a
apoyar o respaldar el trabajo de Richard Stallman hace temer lo peor. La
mejor opción, la opción que debemos intentar en primer lugar, es que la
Free Software Foundation rectifique, rompa su relación con
sfconservancy, y muestre públicamente su rechazo rotundo a la
persecución que sufre Richard Stallman, que reconozca sin reparos su
trabajo y le reincorpore al equipo como se merece. Pero si esto no se
logra, entonces estamos dispuestos a organizarnos para crear una
organización de referencia de software libre estrictamente ajustada a
las ideas de software libre promovidas por Richard Stallman, que no se
sienta avergonzada sino que reconozca el gran trabajo de Richard
Stallman.
¿Qué puedo hacer yo?
1) Suscríbete a la lista de correo (
https://www.freelists.org/list/fsforce ;).
2) Difunde el comunicado ( https://fsforce.noblogs.org ;). Que nadie que
pueda estar interesado, no lo esté por desconocimiento de que existe:
envíale el correspondiente correo o mensaje a tus amigos y compañeros,
publícalo en los sitios web que puedas. Que nadie que haya apoyado
(activa o pasivamente) la campaña contra Richard Stallman quede sin la
réplica de quien sí le apoya: envíale el correspondiente correo o
mensaje a todos los sitios web que publicaron mensajes contra la
permanencia de Richard Stallman como divulgador de software libre,
también a quienes callan ante su persecución, escríbe a sfconservancy (
https://sfconservancy.org/about/board/ ;), los proyectos de software
asociados ( https://sfconservancy.org/projects/current/ ;), y la Free
Software Foundation ( https://www.fsf.org/about/staff-and-board ;).
Prepárate a recibir malas respuestas, por mi experiencia. Acerca de
descalificaciones personales, es fácil indicar que lean el texto del
comunicado, el cual no entra a analizar ni apoyar declaraciones de
Richard a título personal en temas que no son software libre. Acerca de
calificarte como spammer que envía correo no solicitado: si la persona
no ha realizado una declaración pública contra Richard Stallman, es
fácil argumentar que siendo el receptor una persona interesada en el
software libre, has considerado que puede interesarle tu correo y tú no
puedes adivinar previamente a escribirle si quiere o no recibir un
correo sobre este tema en concreto (obviamente no insistas en enviarle
más correos sobre el tema si te ha dicho que no quiere); si la persona
sí ha realizado una declaración pública contra Richard, es fácil
argumentar que puedes mostrar tu postura al igual que previamente hizo.
3) Trabajar juntos en mejorar la infraestructura de la Free Software
Force. Un logo, quizás una lista de correo (¿Mailman?), quizás otro
correo electrónico, quizás otro sitio web (¿Drupal?). Más adelante, si
la Free Software Foundation no rectifica y continúa por mal camino, será
necesario legalizar (mi sugerencia es que en un país sin "Ley
Patriótica") y avanzar en organizar y crear contenido para la Free
Software Force, haciendo mejor aquello que puede mejorarse respecto a la
Free Software Foundation, por ejemplo establecer que todo el contenido
de Free Software Force esté publicado con licencias libres (la Free
Software Foundation usa licencias no libres argumentando razones que no
lo justifican) o una certificación de distribuciones libres y hardware
compatible con software libre más transparente, objetiva y libre de
condicionantes económicos (por ejemplo hay distribuciones que cumplen
estrictamente la "GNU Guidelines for Free System Distributions" que
nunca llegaron a estar o fueron borradas del listado sin jutificación).
