A Free Software Foundation affiliate writes to us to propose that we
promote Richard Stallman's nomination this year for the Free Software
Foundation's "Free Software Advancement Award". It has pros and cons.
Pros: It could force the Free Software Foundation to publicly recognize
Richard Stallman's role, which can be understood as support from an
organization that is avoiding supporting him. Cons: This award is given
by the Free Software Foundation to people who are not part of the Free
Software Foundation, so it implicitly implies that we assume that
Richard Stallman is someone whose site or field of work is outside the
Free Software Foundation.
