***This is a message from a member of Friends of Students for 60,000*** Hi All. Reminder that this Thurs night is our regular meeting at Npt. HS. Please click here for 3 min video from Jim Byrum, who facilitated the $23000 grant we received in 2008 for water, almost all of which is going, or has gone to Nuevo Amanecer. His foundation has a direct project in Haiti, as you'll see. PW -----Original Message----- From: Father James E. I also hope you don't think that I purposefully did not reply to your request for feedback in February. The problem was that I never saw this until today while trying to clean up some old emails. I went to Nicaragua the day this arrived, and when I came back in late Feb. I missed seeing it. I have it now, and for what its worth, I will be complying with the request for testimony, photos, etc. We have used $14000 of the $24000 contributed from the IFF. Some of the first $14000 went to complete a water project in Chacraseca (about $2500) and the rest toward upgrading the water system in Nuevo Amanecer. The pipes were only 1" wide and we had to change them to 1.5". Also we purchased two tanks with towers and made other modifications. That left us with about $10000 left, which we are using to change the old, and often failing diesel generator powered system to a solar pump.
